CCIE Certification

The Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert or CCIE is a technical certification offered by Cisco Systems. The CCIE certifies the skills required for network engineers to design, manage and troubleshoot complex network infrastructures, converged in a wide range of Cisco equipment.

The Cisco CCIE described as "the most prestigious networking certification in the industry.” The CCIE certifies a very specific set of skills in the field of networking. According to Cisco, less than 3 % of Cisco certified engineers to get the CCIE certification  and less than 1 % of the networking professionals worldwide. “And the average candidate will spend thousands of your dollars and spend at least 18 months of study, and pursue it. Passing all program requirements earn the individual a unique number assigned by Cisco CCIE.

The program is divided into seven different areas of knowledge or "tracks." The track that you become CCIE certification determines the different aspects of the technology of that individual is recognized as an expert in One can also opt for more of the CCIE network trace of being recognized as an expert in many different categories Cisco Routing and Switching, Security , service Provider Operations , voice / Collaboration , Data Center and Wireless. Written Examination

The first requirement to obtain the CCIE certification is to pass a written examination specific to the CCIE track the candidate is pursuing. The CCIE written exam is a qualifying exam consists of two hours 90-110 questions, and you can take on any Cisco authorized Pearson VUE testing center. Applications may be a combination of multiple choice and more complex, interactive items that assess technical knowledge. The results of the written test is pass / fail and are available immediately. The passing score is set by statistical analysis and are subject to change. The score is reported on a scale of 300-1000 points, and the actual cost of the examination is $ 350 per attempt. Pass the CCIE written exam is a prerequisite for the CCIE lab exam.

Lab examination

The second and more difficult requirement to achieve CCIE certification is to pass a practical examination in the laboratory managed by Cisco. The specific format of the lab currently is not the same for all tracks, but overall the entire lab exam time is 8 hours. The CCIE lab requires a candidate to configure and troubleshoot a series of complex networks to certain specifications in this limited time. The score is given for each activity, and a candidate must meet a certain number of points (10%) to pass the lab exam. The current exam fee is $ 1500 for attempted excluding travel expenses and accommodation.

Some laboratory tests CCIE are qualified by prosecutors who trained Ensure that all criteria are met and points are awarded accordingly, while other features are classified by an engine automatic classification, ensuring that the classification is the same in all areas. Usually you have the results of laboratory tests in 48 hours.

Traditionally the CCIE lab is available to take in a handful of Cisco lab in the world including Bangalore , Beijing , Brussels , Dubai , Hong Kong , Sao Paulo , Sydney and Tokyo alone places. Not all songs are available in all locations. Recently, there have been efforts made by Cisco to expand the availability of the lab on some songs, while introducing a mobile laboratory that travels regularly in different cities around the world, and the introduction of the possibility to take the exam at a test Pearson VUE center laboratory.
